The war against Ukraine is expanding into its second year, but Ukrainians have felt pressure from Russia since Euromaidan (2013).
Russia’s claims over the south and east regions of the country led to the 2014 illegal invasion and annexation of Crimea. Putin created further instability by spreading separatist movements which heightened tensions that caused the separation of Donetsk and Luhansk from Ukraine. As Ukraine dealt with separatists, Russia launched an attack to blitz their way to Kyiv and expand their holdings.
Ukraine held off Russia’s advances and have managed to turn the conflict into a war of attrition. Both sides are still desperately fighting to gain an advantage, but at the cost of innocent lives. It is time to end the bloodshed and ceaseless destruction while we still can. With your help, we must summon the olive branch, and bring Russian and Ukrainian leaders to the negotiating table. Only PEACE can bring stability.
We have been watching as innocent lives become casualties of war. We must stop watching people die for their right to live!
Both sides have suffered tremendous losses with an estimated 27,000 civilian Killed or injured, (and a half a million in military casualties). We should stand up to the Goliath in defense of David not by violence but by hard stance peace. Please sign our petition and send the message that peace is the only way to protect life and rebuild prosperity.

According to Kyiv Independent, it is believed that more than 19,500 youths have been deported and/or forcibly displaced by Russia (of which only 400 of them have been confirmed and brought back to Ukraine). As families struggle to locate their loved ones, Russian imposed restrictions on Ukrainian citizens seeking entry into bordering territories, have made it even more challenging. This is another reason a peaceful resolution must be found, so that the children of Ukraine can be reunited with their families. Only in peace will they be given an opportunity to rebuild their lives and flourish.

For Ukraine, the war has created a deficit of more than 30% of their GDP with population losses and displaced citizens affecting manpower. In addition, the destruction of businesses, infrastructure and agriculture have decreased manufacturing productions (leading to increased poverty levels and food shortages). While Russia's GDP dropped little (4.5%) its federal budget deficits reached 2,400 billion Rubles in the first quarter of 2022 (more than half the yearly deficit) and these shortfalls could lead to serious financial difficulties. Peace would alleviate these dilemmas.
Russia is a major power that has stayed at the precipice of influence through many wars and will continue to be a major contributor to global welfare, even after this conflict. Its GDP helps sustain several countries within the Eurasian Economic Union (oil exports) and helps sustain most of the world's wheat supplies.

While this war
has weakened global supply chains, domestic goods and services (thus contributed to skyrocketing inflation) and the value of the Ruble, it has also affected our own GDP. Because western allies are supporting Ukraine's defenses both in military supplies and financial aid, our inflation rates are climbing, currencies are depreciating and deficits are soaring. All of this impacts the average civilian's pocket as our costs of living and tax rates surge. These are the reasons we must unite and support peace over war! Through cooperation we create compromise, and through compromise we can find peace.
